Wicca Magick

Magick is how a witch can cause the normal flow of events to be changed to a different outcome by using their will focused through faith.  Magick can be accomplished through rituals, different types of spell casting, and simple acts of will. There are several types of spell casting: sympathetic magick, dream magick, candle magick, and verbal spell casting are but a few of these methods.

Sympathetic Magick:

This type of magick is similar to voodoo.  Some representation of the target of the magick is made and it is physically manipulated by the caster to produce some effect.  For instance, if a spell is done to bind someone from harming another, a doll in the likeness of the target is made and then bound while the witch recites some spell.  Harmful spells are unwise, since the caster often gets back worse than they give.

Dream Magick:

Before to going to sleep, the witch will prepare a certain goal within their mind. While in bed, with some appropriate music playing, the witch will concentrate on the desired goal. The witch will visualize the successful completion of the desired task and fall asleep comes while in this state of concentration. While sleeping, the spell will take form as a dream. Upon awakening, the spell will be complete and the desired goal will be attained.

Candle Magick:

Candle magick is similar to dream magick, except the visualization is done via a candle, and the caster is not required to fall asleep. According to symbology which the caster finds meaningful, a candle of a colour which pertains to the desired task is selected. They will light the candle and stare into the flame while they visualize the successful completion of the desired task. Upon the natural extinguishing of the candle, the spell’s effect shall occur. 

Verbal Spells:

Different witches use different spells, but most have common elements depending on the type of spell.  In all spell casting, visualization and the will of the witch are the two most important ingredients. Symbology which is relevant to the caster is also very important. 

Non-verbal and Somatic Spells:

Adept practitioners of the craft are able to make their will manifest without verbalizing. If gestures are made, these non-verbal spells are considered somatic. This type of spell work can be considered as being the most advanced; the ability to alter the physical world through the means of the spirit via a thought is most powerful. Visualization skills and strength of will must be exceptional for this type of magick to be effective.
